Hi All
In September and October I will be going on 'the cheese-lovers trip of a lifetime'. I will start off by visiting the Slow Cheese festival in Bra, Northern Italy - a biennial celebration of international cheeses . Cheesemakers, cheesemongers and affineurs (the people who mature cheeses) from around the world gather to talk about and taste an amazingly diverse range of cheeses. Then, it is onto France for 4 weeks, where I will be visiting some leading affineurs, including the legendary Herve Mons, as well as lots of visits to cheese markets and some cheese makers, including the famous Comte Gruyere in the Franche-Comte. Last but not least, a quick visit to the UK to do some training with the UK Cheese Guild, a tasting session with Neal's Yard Dairy and of course checking out the local cheese markets. I will be back in the first week of November with lots of exciting cheese tales to tell!
